Orem, UT Fibernet Corp., Utah's premier Internet Service and Colocation Provider, recently announced its fundamental commitment to the environment by working with Fibernet Business Park in becoming an official ENERGY STAR Partner.
Through its voluntary partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Fibernet pledges to continue to promote and improve energy efficiency and global awareness by employing a strategic, energy management program that conserves our natural resources while informing staff and community members of the importance to do the same.
Lane Livingston, CEO of Fibernet Corp., says of the joint partnership, "It's a team effort and we're excited to address this issue with our landlord to make the greatest possible impact."
In partnering with ENERGY STAR, Fibernet joins a broad network of companies across the nation that support the ENERGY STAR Challenge to help improve the energy efficiency of America's commercial and industrial buildings.
"ENERGY STAR partners such as Fibernet…are leading the fight against wasteful energy consumption…by improving the efficiency of their buildings and facilities," said Kathleen Hogan, director of EPA's Climate Protection Partnership Division. "We applaud these efforts to help protect our global environment for generations to come."
Mr. Livingston concluded by saying, "Already we've seen our lighting and cooling expenditures drop by as much as 75% and 25%, respectively, over traditional data centers. It's not hard to imagine the benefits on a wider scale if more of us came on board."
